Why are lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders automatically put into the same group?

i hope that ';transgenders'; is the right word for what im trying to say, im not trying to be disrespectful. i just heard that for a lot of people, sexual preference has nothing to do with their choice to change genders. if that's true, then how come they are put into the LGBT group? im bisexual and i have NO desire to become a man.Why are lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders automatically put into the same group?
What kind of argument is that? Why should lesbian and bisexual women be lumped together? After all, you're bisexual and have no desire to stop liking men.

Trans people are lumped into the same category for several reasons:

- Ignorant society can't tell the difference between us, hence we are often discriminated against in the same ways, hence we are all affected by efforts against discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

- Trans people either are LGB, or are straight and were perceived as gay or lesbian before transition

- None of us follow the heteronormative plan for us of getting into a heterosexual marraige with 2.5 kids without adoption or IVF, never having sex before marriage, with a submissive wife who stays home and takes care of the kids and a dominant husband who is the breadwinner.

- Trans people are a small minority, so we need the help of LGB folks. Why are lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders automatically put into the same group?
Because they are all sexual preferences dealing with gender.

It isn't and insult or a claim of deviance.

It is not to say that your choice directly involes whom you are attracted to.

Gender preference can also mean what gender you prefer to be. Your partner preference may stay the same sex or change.
In a lot of ways this grouping is kind of silly, especially TG/TV as lgb is mostly about attration to others and TG is about self-image, self comfort and so on and seems a much different and more complex issue.. I think the LGBT grouping is convenient for the other 80 or 85% of the population.
